VQA

VQA ist die Abkürzung für Vintners Quality Alliance, das Appellationssystem in Kanada. Zur Bezeichnung eines Weins mit einer VQA müssen die Trauben aus dem der Herkunftsbezeichnung entsprechenden Ursprungsgebiet stammen.

Das kanadische VQA-System hat als Hintergrund die Weinbezeichnung nach typischen regionalen Boden- und Klimabedingungen an den spezifischen geografischen Standorten. Man versucht gewissermaßen den Weinbauregionen bestimmte Terroirs oder Typizitäten zuzuschreiben!
